Childhood illness – when should my child stay home?
Childhood illness – when should my child stay home?
GENERAL CHILDHOOD ILLNESS
Families can sometimes be unsure about when their child should be kept off school, if they are are unwell. Below is a link to the NHS website which goes through the main childhood illnesses, explaining what you should do and when to get medical advice. It also tells you when your child needs to stay at home and when they can go to school.
If a child has had vomiting or diarrhoea they will need to stay off for 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea, so they don’t spread this through the children and staff.
