Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We welcome all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND), into our school, and are proud of the progress children with SEND make during their time with us.
All pupils at Abercromby Nursery School follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and, if appropriate, are given further support through small group work and intervention. We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between children who have SEND and those that do not.
Attendance is vitally important to enable children to achieve their full potential and we work alongside parents to ensure their child is able to attend school regardless of any additional needs.
At Abercromby, we have a fully trained senior teacher to support families and their children with any additional needs.
Our Special Educational Needs & Disability co-ordinator (SENCO) is Tamara (Tam) Bennett
Our Governor with responsibility for SEND is Jo Eyles
If you have any concerns regarding your child, please speak to Tam who will be happy to make an appointment with you.
