At Abercromby we have created a learning community that welcomes all children and families, from any culture, religion, background and ability. Our aim is that every child who comes to our nursery school feels at home and valued. We have robust systems in place to ensure children with additional needs are quickly identified and that support is put in place for them. We also recognise that all behaviour is communication and that children are not “badly behaved”, but need strong attachments to key people who understand them, who then help them learn to regulate their big emotions and behaviour.

Our inclusive practice has been recognised in the Inclusion Quality Mark award. We were assessed on the 26th March 2024, by an expert in Inclusion, who then wrote an extensive report about all the inclusive practice she observed. You can read all about us in the wonderful report below.
