Our Governors
Abercromby Nursery School is accountable to its Governing Body, which is made up of parents, staff and members of the local community.
The Governing Body plays a vital role in supporting and challenging the school to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children. Governors are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the school, holding leaders to account, and ensuring that public funds are used effectively.
Key responsibilities of the Governing Body include:
- Holding the Headteacher accountable for the leadership and performance of the school.
- Monitoring educational standards and the progress of all children.
- Approving and monitoring the school budget to ensure financial sustainability.
- Conducting the Headteacher’s performance management.
Our Governors work together as a team and are committed to supporting the continuous improvement of the school.
They:
- Meet regularly throughout the year to monitor and evaluate the school’s work.
- Attend training in areas such as safeguarding, finance and safer recruitment.
- Engage with parents and the wider community and support fundraising and school events.
