One of our dads, Rabbi Abel, came in to help us learn about a special festival his family and the Jewish community are celebrating at the moment. It is called Sukkot or “Feast of Tabernacles”. Rabbi Abel brought lots of things to show us –  a sort of a lemon called a citron to represent the sun, a date palm and fragrant eucalyptus branches. The children also learned a song and a story to help them understand more about this important religious festival. They also got to try delicious dates and juicy grapes. Thank you Rabbi Abel for giving up your time – it was so interesting!

We can’t wait to learn more about other special festivals that our different families celebrate. We have the world at Abercromby!
