Children are offered a snack during the morning session. In line with the EYFS, snack time is planned to promote children’s independence, confidence, and self-care skills. Children are encouraged to choose when they would like to have their snack, help themselves to what they want, and clear away afterwards, supporting their personal, social, and emotional development.

Children can choose between milk or water to drink. Snacks provided are healthy and nutritious, supporting the EYFS requirement to promote good health and healthy eating habits. Typical snacks include toast, fruit, cheese, breadsticks, and similar foods. Occasionally, children may be introduced to a wider range of foods, for example when celebrating cultural events such as Lunar New Year, or through practical learning experiences such as baking or making soup. These activities support learning across the EYFS, including Understanding the World and Physical Development.

We ask for a voluntary weekly contribution of £1 for part‑time children and £2 for full‑time children, payable at the office or online. This contribution helps support the provision of snacks and food‑based learning experiences.

Please inform us if your child has any allergies or dietary requirements, as this information is essential to ensure children’s health, safety, and wellbeing, in line with the EYFS safeguarding and welfare requirements. Our PANCo, Salma, also supports snack planning and decision‑making to ensure all snacks provided are nutritionally balanced and inclusive.
