When the government changed the funding arrangements for all early years providers from April 2017, they guaranteed supplementary funding for three years to keep our 400 Nursery Schools open; Abercromby is one of 5 Nursery Schools in Liverpool.

Maintained Nursery Schools are local authority run schools for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds which offer outstanding education and care to some of our most vulnerable children. As they are schools, they have higher running costs than other providers. This supplementary funding runs out in March 2020, and there is still no word from the government on future funding. Without this supplementary funding, it is likely most Nursery Schools would have to close.

Many of our families have signed a paper petition which our MP, Louise Ellman, is taking to parliament on Tuesday 5th February. There is also an online petition to sign which can be accessed below. Please sign and ask friends and families to sign.
